Rosemary is one of my favorite herbs and here is an excellent way to employ it externally:
Cram as much fresh rosemary(preferably from your own garden or from that of a friend) as you can into a quart jar & fill with olive oil. Squish it down as thoroughly to get as many air bubbles out as possible. Now, let this sit for four to six weeks. At the end of the four to six weeks, strain it and bottle it in some other convenient container for application. (I strain mine with a coffee filter into an ex honey bottle) Pour a bit of this oil onto your head, massage vigorously and brush through to the ends every night and then go to sleep. (protect your pillow or wear a shower cap). Wash your hair well the next morning. While you're doing this treatment, it's a good idea to feed your hair production from the inside as well. Consume extra protein in any form you like. I like to chug some dissolved gelatin a few times a week and eat a bit of dulse for the extra vitamins and minerals it contains. I believe this regimen works, and my friends and family are amazed at how much my hair seems to have grown over this past year. If you want to give this oil an extra boost, add a few drops of rosemary essential oil to the finished infused oil. If you have color treated hair this treatment is not a good idea because it fades the color quite rapidly.
