Why did I call this thing Hmm? I did it because that's the sound I catch myself making when I'm thinking, and this is all about sharing the things that I have discovered that actually work beneficially for healthy living without pharmaceuticals, and toxic chemicals(within reasonable ability). Why is it of importance or concern? Various people have various ideas and opinions on the subject and mine have come from drastic experiences. It started several years ago, but came to a nasty head which ruptured last summer. I had been suffering some health issues for a few years, and had done what we are raised and indoctrinated to believe is the correct and most beneficial thing to do-I made doctors appointments or emergency room visits, received various medications for my ailments, took the pills, etc, and presumed that I was on the road to certain recovery. My chief complaint last year was horrid lower back pain, which started initially while I was cleaning out our garage in January. I felt that in order to fix a problem one must know exactly what is causing the problem, so of course I went to designated health industry approved licensed and qualified caregivers. After that visit, I assumed that I would be fully restored to my former self in a week or two and lived according to the directives of said experts. Well, that didn't happen. The pain never fully subsided but I kept hoping, taking over the counter non-steroid anti-inflammatories, as suggested by the medical professionals, and trying to ignore it until it got REALLY awful after I cleaned out our leaf choked swimming pool that April. Last year I got many rounds of dreadful pills, some physical therapy, and an X-ray, but the one thing I didn't get was a firm diagnosis. I also got dreadfully ill. Not-oh I have the Flu dreadfully ill, not barfing stomach virus ill, this was a creeping scary body weakening kind of ill. My hair began falling out, I began to tire very easily. I was in a constant level of pain which ranged from annoying to can't stand to move miserable and longing for release. My stomach was paining me as well, and accordingly I was prescribed a pill for the problem. Then, while starting on yet another round of Naproxen and Flexeril for my pain and muscle spasms, I noticed that my feet and hands were swelling, and my palms were bright red. That was the final straw. I knew that NSAIDs could cause stomach damage, and possible liver and kidney damage, especially with long term use, so I picked the pain over certain death, and immediately quit taking those pills. By the way, they never really made the pain manageable either. I thought I was doomed to misery, and that nowhere could I find relief, but fortunately I found a better way. It started with some herbal detox tea along with copious amounts of water, and some devil"s claw extract.
