I have heard about various people I have encountered during my walk through life being diagnosed as bipolar etc., and then taking lithium for the alleged condition. What makes this a good idea? I'm baffled. Here is some really nice information about this allegedly therapeutic drug: https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/compound/lithium_carbonate#section=Hazards-Identification
Then, lets have a look at what a popular drug reference website tells us about this same substance:http://www.rxlist.com/eskalith-side-effects-drug-center.htm
Hmm. Ok, so the chemical information states that it damages organs with repeated exposure, and yet, this chemical is touted as a treatment for a longterm condition. Wouldn't organ damage be a definite result then? I'm really not getting the logic of this. This seems to be a prescription for kill the unmanageable ones off slowly. If I were to be an unscrupulous professional poisoner, lithium would be on my short list. "If swallowed, call a poison control center..if you feel unwell".
